Camping, Part One

So...our camp experience.
we packed the babes up
shoved the van full of a ridiculous amount of gear
unpacked said gear into cabin #2
(which was way fancier than we expected - they even had electrical outlets!)
built fires
spent time with good friends
ate treats
made new friends
took naps
had a great time!
originally, we weren't sure if it was such a great idea to go camping with the girls being so young
and it did take some planning and patience to get there, but I am so glad we did!

a peace offering...

i know i promised camping pictures, and they are coming...eventually!  i'm still learning that things take much longer with twins in tow...and while sometimes, i can get my pictures up on the blog super quick, other times my days are too full of snuggles, giggles, spit-ups, feeding, bum-changing, playing, juggling, baby talking, bathing, soothing, etc etc etc.

but i don't mind - i know they're worth it!  in the meantime, i thought i'd share one of my favorite pictures from our camping trip - something to hold you over while i try and get the rest of the photos ready.

i love this one because it so perfectly speaks so much about who each of my littles is in just one frame!
Ives - my cautious, gentle, quiet and observant baby
and Aria my enthusiastic, loud, outgoing and impulsive baby
i love them to bits and pieces and am so glad my days are full of adventures with them.

weekend smiles

i know i said camping pictures were up next,
but i just couldn't resist sharing these silly faces from this past weekend at home
wanna know the best part about these pics?  they're the first ones i've captured of those little bitty teeth growing in...and trust me, i've been trying since they broke through - its harder than you'd think!

a week ago today we were running around like madmen,
trying to pack for our annual camping trip with our best friends and their kiddos.
usually, we go for July long weekend,
but this year, since it was the girls' first trip
and one of the other couples have a little one even younger than ours,
we decided to push it back to August long weekend.

and so we planned
and packed
and crammed the van full of a ridiculous amount of stuff
for a couple days out with mother nature and friends.

one early morning, a two hour border line-up, a seven hour drive, a couple of bridges underfoot (or underwheel, really), one diarrhea-ridden baby, four soothers overboard, some beautiful scenery, a gas stop, and a few meals on the road later...
i have some pictures from the trip on my camera that i wanted to share,
(not a ton though because i was too busy camping to take pictures!)
but this week has been so crazy, that i haven't had a chance to even look at them yet
maybe i'll share in a later post!

four year old words

to my Godly, amazing, sweet, supportive, funny, kind, strong etc etc etc husband:
You are my favorite!

I still mean every word of those vows (and then some)
you have been such a blessing to me over these past four years
you have taught me more than i thought was possible
I am so thankful for every second we've had together,
for the tough times and the great times
for the work the Lord has done in me, in you, in us
for our beautiful family
there is so much to be thankful for!

I love you so very very much and can't wait to see what else the Lord has in store for us as we move forward with life together.
